A typical show ranges anyway from 15min, 20-25min (standard length). Some occasions it can be 30-40min show or longer. Standard shows usually begin with an exciting dance number (along with one prop) followed by a slower dance, then another with another prop or dance engagement with the crowd and lastly a grand finale drum solo. At the end guests can take selfies with the bellydancer. Most shows dancers use about 2-3 dance props but that is discussed prior to event.
Hiring prices depend on many factors pertaining to your specific event. Location, length of performance and type of event is part of the calculated estimate. When inquiring about booking a belly dancer be as detailed as you can about the type of event you are having, how many guests you are expecting and where the event is taking place. This way you can get a clarified rate suited for your show.
Yes, your bellydancer should allow you to choose what dance prop she uses. Anything from fire tray/candelabra, veils, wings, cane, sword, veil fans and finger zills. Some dancers use other props but this is the standard list professionals use. Some dancers charge extra for using some props and others do not. This is a preference. Elektra does not charge extra for any prop use.
Yes, all performances are family friendly and professional. The shows are for celebration, memories, laughter and fun!
All performances booked with Elektra must be scheduled through contract. After working out the details on the show you wish to see, Elektra will email you her performance contract which will explain your rights as a client & her rights as a performer. If at any reason the booked dancer isn't able to make a show another dancer will automatically be scheduled in her place so that your show will go on. Special Note: If you book a dancer without a performance contract beware that your dancer has the ability to not show up without consequence. Be careful who you hire and always request a copy of the contract for your own safety.
Yes, tips are accepted, it can be tucked into the dancers belt (where her hips are). No tipping in the bra will be tolerated. Another option (most recommended) is to throw tips over the dancers head while she performs to look as if its raining money (this is a traditional way of tipping in Middle Eastern Culture).
That rate is going to a professional qualified dancer who has invested years of training to give you the best show. This is working profession like if you hired a DJ, live musician, a chef or any other hired professional. Be respectful and understand this is someone's valued work.
Ask her questions. Any professional bellydancer who has been doing this work will be able to answer any question without blinking an eye. The more knowledgeable she is the better.
